Children’s yoga classes provide a space and a structure for children to discover the true essence of being a kid. Our goal is to teach them how to truly listen to their bodies and their minds, respecting themselves, each other and the world in which we all share. Each age group will explore these elements of yoga through developmentally appropriate classes. We believe in creating a totally positive, supportive and NON- competitive environment in order for each child to flourish and grow.

Along with being fun, these classes are designed to promote focusing, concentration, relaxation and well-being beyond the time allotted for each class.

3-5 years: Pre-schoolers greatly benefit from learning about their bodies and about the space around them. Games, storytelling, and music are all incorporated into lessons which focus on building skills in motor coordination.

6-10 years: Along with enhancing individual awareness and participation, social interaction, group activities and games become part of each session for this age group. Breathe work, movement and relaxation are formally introduced with emphasis on increasing strength, stability, coordination, and self esteem as well as decreasing stress and anxiety.

Teen Power: Breath work, movement and meditation are combined with yogic principles for well being, stress reduction and self awareness. Learning to find peace and acceptance in the changes and expectations of these important years is intertwined with the theme of staying healthy, fit mind and body and staying truthful to themselves and those around them.
